In 2009 and 2010, Green Impact Guelph targeted apartment buildings in Guelph with a unique and innovative retrofit program. Trained volunteers from Guelph Environmental Leadership (GEL) would go to participating buildings and accompany the superintendent to assess the efficiency of key features of each unit. Inefficient devices were then replaced with low-flow faucet aerators and showerheads and energy efficient light bulbs. Leaky toilets were also identified so that they could be repaired.

Through the efforts of the Multi-Residential Retrofit Program over 1,000 apartment units in Guelph received assessments and retrofits!
